Description

These twisted, blackened trees grow where dark magic has corrupted the land. Their branches reach like grasping claws, and their bark weeps a viscous black sap. No bird nests in Witchwood, no animal shelters beneath it, for all living things sense its malevolence.

Effects

Proximity causes feelings of dread and despair. Extended exposure results in nightmares and paranoia. The sap curses those it touches, bringing persistent misfortune. Burning Witchwood releases toxic, hallucinogenic smoke.

Identification

Blackened, twisted trunk and branches. No leaves or only withered, gray ones. Black sap oozing from bark. Area around tree is barren - no other plants grow within several paces. Often groans or whispers when wind blows.
