Bloodthorn
Warning catalog by Poisoner-Scholar Vesper Nighthollow
Classification: Parasitic Plant
Habitat: Forest edges and clearings
Danger Level: Moderate
Description
Beautiful red berries lure the unwary to this thorny bush, but the Bloodthorn takes more than it gives. Its thorns are hollow, designed to pierce flesh and drink blood. A large enough patch can drain a trapped creature completely.
Effects
Thorns pierce deeply and resist removal, breaking off in wounds. Anticoagulant compounds prevent clotting, causing persistent bleeding. Larger wounds may become infected. Berries are mildly toxic, causing stomach cramps.
Identification
Dense, thorny bushes with distinctive red berries. Thorns are unusually long and slightly curved. Often found with animal remains tangled in branches. Grows aggressively, spreading to block paths.
