Description

Also called Belladonna or Devils Berries, Nightshade has claimed countless lives throughout history. Its shiny black berries taste sweet, making them especially dangerous to children. Every part of the plant is toxic.

Effects

Dilated pupils, rapid heartbeat, hallucinations, and convulsions precede death. Even small amounts can be fatal. Some use minute doses medicinally, but the margin between therapeutic and lethal is razor-thin.

Identification

Bushy plant with oval leaves and dull purple flowers. Berries are shiny black, about the size of cherries. Often grows in disturbed soil near settlements. Resembles edible plants to the untrained eye.
