Description

The mighty oaks of Aedelore produce acorns in abundance each autumn. These humble nuts, capped with their distinctive cups, contain the potential for trees that will stand for centuries. Squirrels and other creatures compete with humans for the harvest.

Cultivation

Acorns germinate readily when planted in autumn. Oaks grow slowly but steadily, requiring patience measured in decades. A single tree may produce thousands of acorns annually once mature.

Uses

Processed to remove bitter tannins, acorns yield nutritious flour. Raw acorns feed livestock, especially pigs. Oak timber serves countless construction purposes, and the bark provides tanning agents for leather.
