Description

In lands where fire meets earth, where hot springs bubble and volcanic soil warms the ground, there grows the Hearthroot. Its orange-red coloring and warmth to the touch make it unmistakable. The plant thrives in conditions that would kill ordinary vegetation.

Properties

Hearthroot warms the body from within, making it invaluable for treating hypothermia and cold-related ailments. It also improves circulation and eases the stiffness of age. Warriors consume it before winter campaigns.

Preparation

Slice the root thin and dry over fire. Brew as tea or chew directly - the warming effect is immediate. May be combined with fatty foods to create long-lasting warmth. Excessive consumption causes sweating and fever.
