Description

Armored as if by nature own smiths, the Ironhide Rhinox bears plates of bone-fused hide that deflect sword and arrow alike. Three horns crown its massive head, and its bulk rivals that of elephants. Despite appearances, it can achieve surprising speed when charging.

Behavior

Generally peaceful unless threatened or during mating season. Herds are led by the largest female, with males fighting for mating rights through horn-clashing contests. When angered, their charge flattens everything in its path.

Combat Notes

Standard weapons nearly useless against hide. Target eyes, mouth, or joints where armor is thinner. Magic and fire more effective than physical attacks. Better to avoid than engage.
