Description

Dracolisks are horrifying hybrids of dragon and basilisk, possessing both a petrifying gaze and draconic strength. They are thankfully rare, as their creation requires dark magic or extraordinarily unlikely natural circumstances.

Behavior

Dracolisks are aggressive and territorial, attacking anything that enters their domain. They seem to possess an instinctive hatred of all life, possibly due to the unnatural nature of their existence. They do not hoard treasure like dragons-they simply kill.

Combat

Fighting a Dracolisk combines the worst aspects of both parent creatures. Mirror tactics help against the gaze, but the creature is still dragon-sized and armored. Fire and cold magic are effective, as is fighting in complete darkness if the combatants can manage it.

Lore

The creation of Dracolisks was attempted by dark mages during the First War as weapons of mass destruction. Most died in the attempt; the few successes proved impossible to control. It is believed that wild Dracolisks today descend from those war-spawned horrors.
