Deathbell
Warning catalog by Poisoner-Scholar Vesper Nighthollow
Classification: Deadly Poison
Habitat: Shaded woodlands
Danger Level: Lethal
Description
Heed well this warning: the beautiful purple bells that hang from this innocent-seeming plant conceal death itself. Every part of the Deathbell carries lethal poison - root, stem, leaf, and flower alike. Even touching it with bare skin risks absorption of its toxins.
Effects
Ingestion causes rapid heartbeat followed by heart failure. Skin contact produces numbness and, in sufficient quantity, paralysis. There is no known antidote - only immediate purging offers hope of survival, and even then death may follow.
Identification
Purple bell-shaped flowers drooping from arching stems. Leaves are oval and slightly fuzzy. Often found in dappled shade beneath trees. Entire plant is somewhat wilted-looking even when healthy.
