Stone Giant
Type: Giant
Habitat: Mountains, deep caves
Threat Level: High
Description
Stone Giants are reclusive creatures with granite-gray skin and the ability to blend seamlessly with rocky surroundings. They stand about eighteen feet tall but can seem shorter due to their hunched posture.
Behavior
Stone Giants are artists and philosophers, preferring solitude and contemplation to conflict. They carve vast underground galleries and throw boulders not as weapons but as a sport, competing for distance and accuracy. They avoid other races when possible.
Combat
Stone Giants are phenomenal rock-throwers, able to hit targets at extreme range with deadly accuracy. In melee, they are powerful but less aggressive than other giants-they fight to drive off intruders, not to kill unnecessarily.
Lore
Dwarves have occasionally formed peaceful relationships with Stone Giant communities, trading crafted goods for access to mineral-rich caves. Such arrangements require patience, as Stone Giants think and act on timescales that frustrate shorter-lived races.
