Shadow Stalker
Type: Void-spawned predator
Habitat: Areas where the Boundary is thin, ruins, deep caves
Threat Level: High
Description
Shadow Stalkers exist in the space between shadows, emerging only to feed on the life force of living creatures. They appear as darker patches within darkness itself-a shadow that moves against the light, that reaches when it should retreat.
Behavior
These creatures are patient hunters. They will follow prey for days, waiting for the moment when their target is alone, tired, or distracted. They do not kill for sustenance in the traditional sense-they drain vitality, leaving victims weakened, aged, or simply... absent. Bodies are rarely found.
Combat
Shadow Stalkers are vulnerable to direct light, particularly fire consecrated to Taninsam. They cannot manifest in brightly lit areas and will flee from sudden illumination. In darkness, however, they are nearly impossible to detect until they strike.
Lore
For it is written: the Shadow Stalker is not truly alive, for it was never born. It is hunger given form, a fragment of the Voids eternal appetite that has learned to hunt. Where one appears, others often follow-drawn by the weakening of reality that their presence causes.
