Description

Armored insects the size of dogs, Scorch Beetles generate intense internal heat. Their carapaces glow orange-red, and they leave scorched trails wherever they walk. In swarms, they can reduce forests to cinders.

Behavior

Feed on volcanic minerals and wood, which they burn internally. Attracted to fire and heat sources. Queens establish hives near lava flows, sending workers out to gather fuel. Swarms migrate when food depletes.

Combat Notes

Immune to fire, vulnerable to cold and water. Their death-burst releases stored heat explosively. Never fight near flammable materials. Frozen specimens can be safely handled.
