Description

Revenants are warriors who have returned from death with a singular purpose: to destroy those who killed them. Unlike other undead, Revenants retain their full intelligence, skills, and memories. They appear as they did in life, though closer inspection reveals the wounds that killed them.

Behavior

A Revenant will pursue its target across any distance, through any obstacle, for as long as it takes. It cannot be bargained with, cannot be deterred, cannot be distracted. It exists only to kill, and once its purpose is fulfilled, it returns to death peacefully.

Combat

Revenants fight with the skill they possessed in life, making experienced warriors particularly dangerous. They can be destroyed through combat, but they will reform within days unless their killer is slain. Only fulfilling their vengeance-or destroying the killer by other means-ends their existence permanently.

Lore

Revenants are rare because they require a specific combination of circumstances: a skilled warrior, killed unjustly, with the will to return. The faithful of Tatsu view them as exceptions to the natural order-souls so wronged that even the god of death granted them time to seek justice.
