Description

Water fey of ethereal beauty, nixies appear as lithe humanoids with green-tinged skin and webbed fingers. They guard freshwater places and can breathe both water and air. Their songs carry across water, luring the curious.

Behavior

Nixies protect their waters fiercely but fairly. They may befriend those who respect their homes and punish polluters or overfishers. Some form romantic attachments to mortals, with tragic results.

Powerful in water, weaker on land. Their charm can enslave victims for extended periods. Can command water creatures. Iron breaks their enchantments. Bargaining often works better than fighting.
