Hill Giant
Type: Giant
Habitat: Hills, lowland caves
Threat Level: High
Description
Hill Giants are the smallest and most common of giantkind, standing about twelve feet tall. They are dim-witted, crude, and perpetually hungry, with lumpy features and skin ranging from tan to muddy brown.
Behavior
Hill Giants live in small family groups, spending most of their time hunting, eating, and sleeping. They are territorial but easily distracted-a sufficiently large or interesting meal can lure them away from conflict. They have been known to raid farms and villages for food.
Combat
Hill Giants rely on brute strength, swinging massive clubs or throwing boulders. They lack tactical sophistication but their size and power make them dangerous regardless. Multiple combatants attacking from different angles can confuse them.
Lore
Hill Giants are believed to be descended from nobler giant races, degraded over generations by isolation and inbreeding. Some scholars argue they could be uplifted through education; others consider them beyond redemption.
