Description

Fire Elementals are living flames, spirits of pure combustion given form and consciousness. They range from candle-sized to massive conflagrations depending on their power and the fuel available to them.

Behavior

Fire Elementals are drawn to combustible materials and heat sources. They are not inherently malevolent but have no concept of the destruction they cause-burning is simply their nature. Some respond to those who show proper respect; others burn indiscriminately.

Combat

Water and cold-based magic are effective against Fire Elementals. Physical weapons pass through their forms harmlessly unless magically enhanced. Depriving them of fuel-fighting in stone environments, for example-limits their power significantly.

Lore

The faithful of Taninsam believe Fire Elementals carry fragments of the sacred flame. They are treated with reverence in temples of the Eternal Fire, where priests have learned to communicate with them through ritual.
