Description

Waystones are standing stones inscribed with transportation runes. They form a network allowing instantaneous travel between linked stones-a system created by the Elves and later expanded by other races.

Usage

Activating a Waystone requires knowledge of the destination stone''s true name and sufficient magical ability. The traveler steps into the stone and emerges from their destination instantly.

Limitations

Each use is draining; most people can only travel once or twice before needing rest. The stones cannot transport large groups or heavy cargo. Some stones are restricted to specific users.

Lore

The Waystone network has shrunk since the Age of Silence-many stones were destroyed or their names forgotten. Restoring the network is an ongoing project of the Arcane Creed.
