Description

These torches burn with magical flame that produces light and heat but never consumes fuel. They are the most common magical item in Aedelore, found in homes, dungeons, and everywhere light is needed.

Usage

Simply hold the torch; it ignites automatically when grasped and extinguishes when released. The flame can be adjusted from candlelight to bonfire intensity through concentration.

Limitations

Everburning Torches are not weapons-their flame produces light and warmth but cannot set objects ablaze or harm creatures. They can be suppressed by sufficiently powerful darkness magic.

These were developed after the Age of Silence as practice pieces for apprentice mages. Their simplicity and usefulness made them the most widely produced magical item in history.
