Description

Oathkeeper is a simple shortsword of unremarkable appearance, yet it is one of the most significant artifacts in Aedelore. Its blade is inscribed with the text of the Treaty of Nortaq in letters too small to read with the naked eye.

History

Forged from the melted weapons of the First War, Oathkeeper was created as part of the peace process following divine judgment. Every signatory of the Treaty touched the blade, binding their nations to the peace.

Powers

Oathkeeper enforces promises. Those who swear upon it and break their oath suffer increasingly severe misfortune until they make amends. It also glows in the presence of broken promises.

Requirements

Oathkeeper serves no single wielder but is used in diplomatic ceremonies throughout Aedelore. Treaties signed in its presence carry additional weight.
