Description

This mushroom grows where lightning has struck, feeding on the residual electrical energy. Its cap crackles with contained static, and touching it produces a sharp shock. During storms, Thundercaps glow with inner light and release spores on the wind.

Essential for lightning-based magic and storm-calling rituals. Can be used to create shock-enchanted weapons or to brew potions that grant temporary lightning powers. Storm mages prize it above most other reagents.

Harvesting Notes

Best gathered immediately after lightning strikes. Wear insulating gloves - the shock can stun or kill. Transport in glass containers to prevent discharge. Potency fades within a fortnight unless preserved magically.
