Description

Wraiths are the spirits of those who died with such overwhelming hatred or grief that they refused Tatsus call. They appear as translucent, twisted versions of their living forms, their faces frozen in expressions of rage or anguish.

Behavior

Wraiths are driven by a single overriding purpose-usually vengeance against whoever wronged them in life. They will destroy anyone who stands between them and their target, but they have no interest in random violence. Some Wraiths have pursued their prey for centuries.

Combat

Physical weapons pass through Wraiths without effect. Only magic, blessed weapons, or weapons made of silver can harm them. Their touch drains life force, and prolonged contact can be fatal. Sunlight weakens them significantly.

Lore

A Wraith can only find rest when its purpose is fulfilled or when the injustice that created it is somehow addressed. Some heroes have found ways to give Wraiths peace without fulfilling their murderous intentions-but such solutions require understanding what the Wraith truly needs, which is rarely what it claims to want.
