Description

Lesser Drakes are the smallest true dragonkin, about the size of large dogs. They possess wings, scales, and a rudimentary breath weapon-usually fire or acid-but lack the intelligence and magical power of true dragons.

Behavior

Lesser Drakes are pack hunters, using numbers to bring down prey larger than themselves. They are territorial and aggressive, attacking anything that enters their hunting grounds. They nest in high places and are fiercely protective of their eggs.

Combat

A single Lesser Drake is manageable for an experienced warrior. In packs, they become dangerous through coordination and breath weapon saturation. Their scales provide moderate protection against physical attacks; magic is more effective.

Lore

Lesser Drakes are believed to be distant descendants of the Dragon Gods, diluted through countless generations. The temples teach that they should be treated with respect-killing them unnecessarily is seen as disrespectful to their divine ancestors.
