Description

These spiders spin webs of solidified darkness that ensnare both body and soul. Ranging from hand-sized to horse-sized, they lurk in shadows waiting for prey. Their bite injects void venom that paralyzes while keeping victims conscious.

Behavior

Gloom Spiders wrap prey in shadow-silk and feed slowly over days. They prefer to keep victims alive as long as possible, savoring their fear. Multiple spiders may share territory and prey.

Combat Notes

Shadow webs dissolve in direct light. Fire effective against both spider and web. Their eyes are vulnerable - blind them and they become confused. Antivenom exists but is rare and expensive.
